Mission Statement
The mission of the BBRI is an extension of NCCU's mission which partially states, "The primary mission of NCCU is to provide its students with an educational environment that will stimulate their intellectual curiosities; enhance and develop academic and professional skills; instill a sense of pride, dignity, and discipline; and promote a consciousness of social responsibility and dedication to the advancement of the general welfare of the people of North Carolina, of the United States, and of the world."
The mission of the BBRI is to create a high quality biomedical research program that addresses the health research and training needs of underserved minority groups. The program's aim is to: generate information that will improve the health of the minority community, provide students with state-of-the-art skills in biotechnology and broader access to careers in the biomedical sciences.
