LET THE GIVING BEGIN - NCCU ATHLETICS KICKS OFF "$1,000 EAGLES" CAMPAIGN
The North Carolina Central University Department of Athletics held a kickoff reception on Thursday (May 20) for the "$1,000 Eagles" fund-raising campaign with the goal of raising $1 million for student-athlete scholarships and books. A sign with the first 17 donors was unveiled at NCCU's O'Kelly-Riddick Stadium with the slogan, "1000 Eagles Giving $1000 - Springboard to $1 Million." FOUR EAGLES EARN CIAA ACADEMIC HONORS
Four North Carolina Central University student-athletes are among the 20 individuals from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association that have been named to the seventh annual CIAA Commissioner's All-Academic Team. NCCU's two-sport senior standout Adija Beaty earned CIAA Commissioner's All-Academic First Team honors, along with junior golfer Ernie Batchelor.
