NCCU'S YOUNG, BEATTY EARN ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS
HAMPTON, VA -- North Carolina Central University
senior guards Tiona Beatty and David Young have been selected
to the 2004 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association All-Conference
Basketball Teams.

Beatty, a 5-5 senior guard out of Queens, NY, is the second-leading scorer
in the CIAA, averaging 20.2 points per game. She is also ranked third in
the conference in three-point field goals made (2.0) and fifth in three-point
field goal percentage (.326). Along with her 465 points during the 2003-04
campaign, the team captain has recorded 45 rebounds, 42 assists and 33
steals.
During her stellar four-year career as a Lady
Eagle, Beatty has amassed 1,320 points (fourth in the school's career scoring
list), 191 assists, 188 rebounds and 144 steals.
Young, a 6-5 senior guard from New Castle,
PA, is second in the conference in scoring with 21.1 points per contest.
He is also among the conference leaders in three-point field goals (fifth
- 2.32 made per game), free throw percentage (10th - .795), field goal
percentage (13th - .508), steals (13th - 1.55 per game) and three-point
field goal percentage (14th - .367).
A transfer from Xavier University, Young tops
the Eagles with 464 points, 102 rebounds and 34 steals, and is second on
the squad with 47 assists.
