CIAA Bowling Championship Finals Boast Eight Hopefuls and All-CIAA Team

November 18, 2002 

Kernersville, NC- Eight of 12 teams advance to the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s 2002 Women’s Bowling Championship Finals at the Countryside Bowling Lanes, Kernersville, North Carolina. 

After two days of competition, North Carolina Central University, Virginia State University, Winston-Salem State University, Shaw University, Fayetteville State University, Elizabeth City State University, Bowie State University, and Virginia Union University will compete in the double elimination Bracket Baker Format. All teams will begin rolling at 9am with pairings as follows:

The first two days of competition comprised of six team matches, seeded from regular season play, followed by six matches of Baker games, scored as win-loss points, ranking points from cross-divisional play, and ranking points from all divisions.

This is the CIAA’s second Women’s Bowling Championship, where the reigning Conference champions are the Lady Eagles of North Carolina Central University.
