NCCU'S KING REPEATS AS ALL-CONFERENCE HOOPS PERFORMER

Cassie King     HAMPTON, VA -- North Carolina Central University junior forward Cassie King is a repeat selection for the All-CIAA women's basketball team, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) announced Tuesday.
The team comprises the top 12 players in the league, according to the vote conducted by the CIAA Women's Basketball Coaches Association.
King, a 6-0 native of Wendell, N.C., earned her second consecutive selection to the All-CIAA Team after ranking third in the conference in scoring (18.9 points per game), fourth in rebounding (9.2 rpg), sixth in steals (2.58 spg), 10th in blocked shots (0.75 bpg), and No. 1 in free throw percentage (82.1 percent).
A two-time pick as the CIAA Player of the Week (Nov. 27, Jan. 8), King has recorded 10 double-doubles this season and now has 32 for her career. She scored a season-high 35 points at Fayetteville State on Feb. 7, and scored her 1,500th career point in just three seasons on Feb. 16.
King led the Lady Eagles to their best start in school history (11-1) and the team's current No. 5 ranking in South Atlantic Region.
In only three seasons at NCCU, King has amassed 1,525 points, 772 rebounds and 201 steals. She is just 83 points shy of passing Monica Stewart (1990-94) as the Lady Eagles' all-time leading scorer.
