NCCU FOOTBALL INKS 21 STUDENT-ATHLETES ON SIGNING DAY
DURHAM, NC - North Carolina Central University's
new head football coach Mose Rison announced his inaugural recruiting class
on Wednesday (Feb. 7), which includes 21 high school student-athletes on
the first signing day.
With NCCU heading into its first season of
competition in the NCAA Championship Subdivision (formerly Division I-AA),
the obvious focus was improving up front.
"Without question, our needs going into this
process were on the offensive and defensive lines," Rison said. "We are
pleased with and excited about this recruiting class, and we are looking
forward to coaching these kids in the fall."
Of the 21 signees, 12 play in the trenches,
including seven defensive linemen and five offensive linemen, and 14 finished
their high school football careers in North Carolina.
