NCCU's Demby M.V.P. of CIAA Eastern Division Golf Challenge
ELIZABETH CITY, NC - North Carolina Central
University freshman Brian Demby earned Most Valuable Player honors
of the 2005 CIAA Eastern Division Golf Challenge, leading the Eagles to
a second place finish at the Carolina Golf Club in Elizabeth City, NC,
on Tuesday (April 12).
Demby's two-day total of 152, including a
first-round tally of 73, was the lowest score in the 10-team tournament
field.
NCCU's two-day total of 649 was just seven
strokes shy of the event winner and reigning CIAA champion Fayetteville
State University (642). The Eagles actually outscored the Broncos on the
final day, 326 to 327.
