NCCU Places Fourth at National Minority College Golf
Championship
PORT ST. LUCIE, FL - North Carolina Central
University placed fourth at the 2004 National Minority College Golf Championship
held at the PGA Golf Club (North Course) in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
NCCU sophomore Steve Wright fired a
28-over-par 244 during the three-round championship to place seventh overall
in the Division II individual standings. Ernie Batchelor tied for
13th place overall with a 37-over-par 253.
Benedict College won the event with a total
score of 970 (322-324-324). The fourth place Eagles, who shot 1050 (354-357-339)
as a team, finished behind Fayetteville State (997) and Lincoln University
(1044).
