NCCU'S MOORE VOTED CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
HAMPTON, VA - North Carolina Central University senior forward Jonathan
Moore has been selected as the CIAA Men's Basketball Player of the
Week, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced Sunday
(Jan. 16).
Moore, a 6-8, 220-pound forward out of Raleigh,
NC, averaged 23.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 3.3 steals in three
games last week.
On Monday, Jan. 10, Moore scored a game-high
29 points and added six rebounds, four assists and four steals during a
79-77 road victory over Bowie State University, the fourth-ranked team
in NCAA Division II.
Moore then posted his fifth double-double
of the season with 25 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, six steals and
three blocked shots during a 71-65 win against Shaw University on Thursday,
Jan. 13.
Moore is currently the second-leading scorer
in the CIAA with an average of 18.7 points per contest. He is also ranked
among the league leaders with 121 rebounds/8.6 rpg (4th), 39 steals/2.79
spg (3rd) and 22 blocked shots/1.57 bpg (6th).
