NCCU SURVIVES ECSU COMEBACK 77-71 IN OVERTIME

     DURHAM, NC - Despite surrendering a 20-point second half lead, North Carolina Central University outlasted a game Elizabeth City State University Vikings squad 77-71 in overtime Tuesday inside NCCU's McLendon-McDougald Gymnasium.
     NCCU (10-12, 6-10) was led by senior center Jason Hervey, who amassed 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field. The 6-9, 270-pound Arlington, Texas native added six rebounds and four blocks. Fellow NCCU senior Steve Randolph accumulated eight points, five assists, five rebounds and four steals. Three other Eagles scored in double-figures as sophomore guard Bryan Ayala collected 11 points, eight rebounds and eight assists; senior guard Chris Mayshack hit four three-point field goals en route to 16 points and senior forward Drew Johnson added 10 points.
     ECSU (11-12, 7-9) had four players in double-figures, including a team-high 21 points and eight rebounds from forward Anthony Hilliard.
