Dear Coach Spence, I'm a Georgia College and State University basketball fan who watched the Bobcats play your visiting team tonight. From the very start I sensed something special about you and your team. I've watched a lot of teams come here, and I've never seen a coach conduct himself with the personal pride and dignity that you displayed. Clearly you had communicated this behavioral ethic to your players as they too conducted themselves admirably. I was also struck by how well-coached and well-organized your team was. You have some talented players, particularly at the guard positions, but they play beautiful team basketball that is inspiring to watch even when you're beating my team playing their best game. I was so impressed with you that I came straight home and looked up your college on the Internet. I read your biography and could see why you and your team displayed such class. You played at N.C. State with David Thompson and that great 1974 NCAA championship team, and then you've coached and taught high school before coming to your current position in 2000. As a retired teacher, I most admire people who work with young people and develop them as total persons, and I see your commitment to this ideal in your players and your personal conduct. So congratulations on being a great coach in the game of life. I'm sure the young men who have played for you will never forget the example you have set and will do honor to you and what you represent as they proceed through life. Sincerely, Donald Fuller
