NCCU'S KNIGHT HELPS HBCU ALL-STARS WIN IN CLEVELAND
CLEVELAND, OH -- North Carolina Central University senior guard Curtis
Knight helped lead the HBCU All-Stars to a 116-111 victory over the
Ohio All-Stars in the second annual Black College All-Star Game at Gund
Arena on Saturday (April 16) in downtown Cleveland, Ohio.
Knight, a native of Greenville, NC, scored
nine points on 4-of-6 shooting from the floor, while adding two rebounds
and two steals.
A 2005 All-CIAA honoree, Knight completed
his final season ranking sixth in the conference in scoring (16.1 ppg),
third in 3-point field goals made (2.3 avg.), and third in 3-point field
goal percentage (.432). He scored a career-high 30 points at Virginia Union,
the eventual NCAA Division II National Champions, on Jan. 27, and hit a
season-best six 3-pointers for 28 points at Columbus State on Dec. 27.
Knight played in every game during his standout
four-year career (2001-05), finishing as the school's seventh all-time
leading scorer with 1,476 points. He is also fifth on the school's all-time
steals list (136 steals), fifth in field goals made (513), 13th in free
throws made (259), and 20th in assists (155).
