FORMER EAGLE YOUNG ON MILWAUKEE BUCKS SUMMER LEAGUE TEAM

Former North Carolina Central University men's basketball standout David Young is playing with the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks in the Minnesota Summer League.
Young, who finished his collegiate career at NCCU in 2004, is averaging 7.7 points and 2.0 rebounds per game for the Bucks. His best outing was on July 17 against the Toronto Raptors when he scored 16 points to equal a team-high with No. 1 draft pick Andrew Bogut. Young added three rebounds, an assist and a steal in 21 minutes of action.
The Bucks final game of the Minnesota Summer League is Tuesday (July 19) against the New York Knicks. Young wears jersey number 25.
Young, who transferred to NCCU from Xavier University, was voted All-CIAA and CIAA All-Tournament Team as the conference's third leading scorer with 20.5 points per game during the 2003-04 season. His 594 points that year is second on NCCU's single-season scoring list.
In June of 2004, Young became NCCU's first NBA draft pick in 21 years when the Seattle Supersonics selected him with the 41st overall pick.
Young, a 6-5, 205-pound shooting guard, went on to play with the Raleigh Knights in the World Basketball Association in the summer of 2004, and then became the leading scorer for the National Basketball Development League's (NBDL) Fayetteville (NC) Patriots, earning All-NBDL Second Team honors for the 2004-05 season.
