            HAMPTON, VA – North Carolina Central University sophomore transfer Andres Perez has been selected as the CIAA Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced Tuesday (March 27).
            A native of Santiago, Chile, Perez was undefeated at No. 1 singles with a 3-0 record last week. His most impressive performance was a convincing 6-0, 6-2 victory over Justin Stuckey of Johnson C. Smith, one of the top players in the conference.
            Perez also posted a 3-1 record in doubles play.
            After starting the season with a 2-4 singles record at the top position, Perez has won his last five outings for a 7-4 overall singles record. The Business Administration major boasts a 3-1 singles mark against conference opponents in his first season as an Eagle.
