NCCU'S CARTER, NASS CLAIM WEEKLY CONFERENCE TENNIS HONORS
HAMPTON, VA -- North Carolina Central University
sophomore Jonathan Carter and head coach David Nass received
weekly tennis honors from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association
on Wednesday (April 13).
Carter, a native of Landover, Maryland, was
voted as the CIAA Men's Tennis Player of the Week after posting a 5-1 record
as a No. 2 and 3 seed during the week of April 4-10. Carter has won five
consecutive singles matches and five straight doubles matches with playing
partner Joshua Collins.
Nass, now in his ninth season as head men's
and women's tennis coach at NCCU, was selected as the CIAA Men's Tennis
Coach of the Week after the Eagles posted a 3-3 record last week, including
a split with Winston-Salem State and a sweep of Saint Augustine's.
