Purpose of Program

The National Youth Sports Program (NYSP) is a federally funded program designated to give low-income youth ages 10-16 a positive life-changing experience.  The NYSP philosophy is to provide low-income youth with positive role models, and allow them to experience wholesome, enriching activities on a college or university campus, thereby giving them a glimpse of higher education, and a push in the right direction.  Over 200 colleges and universities nationwide participate in this program every summer.  There is no cost for the program.  It includes a variety of sports and physical activities and educational/enrichment activities instructed by a degreed, credentialed professional.  The program includes a free breakfast and lunch for all participants.
