NCCU's Patterson Earns CIAA Championship in 400-Meter

RALEIGH, NC -- North Carolina Central University
sophomore Michael Patterson (Pleasantville, NJ) ran for an individual
CIAA Championship in the men's 400-meter dash with a time of 47.67 at Saint
Augustine's College in Raleigh on Saturday (April 17).
Patterson also ran the second leg of the men's 4x100m
relay squad, also including Tavius Walker, Floyd Ingalls,
and Albert Newkirk, that took second place and all-conference honors
with a time of 40.80.
Walker, a native of Raleigh, ran for All-CIAA honors
with a third place finish in the men's 200m dash (22.35).
As a team, the NCCU men placed sixth with 24 points.
On the women's side, two freshman, Dana Hope
(Charlotte, NC) and Katerina Glasova (Czech Republic), earned All-CIAA
recognition with second place efforts. Hope ran a 12.54 in the women's
100m dash, while Glasova recorded a 2:19.37 in the women's 800m run.
As a team, the NCCU women finished sixth with 20
points.
