     HAMPTON, VA – North Carolina Central University sophomore Sophia Blue (Hope Mills, N.C.) has repeated as the CIAA Softball Player of the Week, while rookie center fielder Desanbra Franklin (Piqua, Ohio) has been named the CIAA Defensive Player of the Week, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced Wednesday (April 4).
     In two games last week, Blue amassed a .625 batting average by going 5-for-8 at the plate with a triple, a run batted in, two runs scored and three stolen bases, while also recording four putouts and 4 assists in the field. 
     Franklin tallied six putouts from her outfield position, while also hitting .286 with a double during a pair of victories at Virginia State University.
