In game one, NCCU scored 8 runs on 8 hits against Lady Ram freshman pitcher Heather Davis, who no-hit the Lady Eagles two days ago, to earn an 8-5 victory. Senior Latisha McEachern sparked NCCU's offense by going 3-for-4 with 2 doubles, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. WSSU shortstop Laurie Underwood hit 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored and an RBI in the loss. Lady Eagle pitcher Lisa Hicks scattered 9 hits for the win. In game two, Winston-Salem State exploded for 11 runs on 12 hits to cruise to an 11-3 victory. Makisha Brown hit 2-for-4 with a double, 3 runs scored and an RBI, while Angela Booe went 2-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI to lead WSSU (21-6 overall, 8-4 CIAA, 5-1 CIAA West). NCCU (11-11 overall, 5-7 CIAA, 2-4 CIAA West) was topped by freshman Adija Beaty with 2 hits in 3 trips to the plate, while junior shortstop Lanelle Turner drove in 2 runs.
