LADY EAGLES SOFTBALL SHUTS OUT JCSU, WINS REGULAR SEASON
CROWN
CHARLOTTE, NC - North Carolina Central University won two
road contests over Johnson C. Smith University 5-0 and 14-0, to finish
20-0 in CIAA play and complete the first undefeated conference regular
season in school history.
In the first game of the doubleheader, all-conference
hurler Stacey Greene pitched a complete game shutout, while only allowing
two hits to the Lady Golden Bulls. Fellow all-conference performer Francheska
Pittman provided the offensive punch for NCCU by hitting one home run,
scoring two runs, registering two hits and stealing a base.
Game two saw a similar result as CIAA All-Rookie
Team member Kristen Schooler pitched five scoreless innings and struck
out two batters. NCCU's bats came alive as six starters had two or more
hits, including three from sophomore third baseman Sophia Blue.
