NCCU WOMEN MEDALISTS IN SPRINT MEDLEY AT PENN RELAYS

     PHILADELPHIA -- North Carolina Central University earned a medal by placing fifth in the College Women's Sprint Medley Championship of America at the 2002 Penn Relays in Philadelphia on Saturday (April 27).
     The Lady Eagle foursome of Chanda Powell (Durham, NC), Rosalyn Pollard (Hendersonville, NC), Kennisha Moten (Fayetteville, NC) and Katerina Glosova (Cernotin, Czech Republic) completed the event (200m, 200m, 400m, 800m) in 3:55.38 and finished ahead of some major NCAA Division I competition, including Florida State, Alabama, Tennessee State, Princeton and South Carolina.
     NCCU senior Jason Smoots (Gadsden, Alabama) also earned a medal by placing fourth in the College Men's 100m Dash Championship of America with a time of 10.41.
