NCCU'S GLOSOVA VOTED VERIZON ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN
North Carolina Central University senior Katerina Glosova has been
voted to the 2003 Verizon Academic All-America College Division Women's
Cross Country/Track and Field Second Team, as selected by the College Sports
Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
A native of Cernotin, Czech Republic, Glosova
graduated Summa Cum Laude from NCCU with a degree in hospitality and tourism
administration and an overall grade point average of 3.977 (4.0 scale).
During her remarkable four-year career as
a distance runner, Glosova received 27 all-conference honors; captured
15 individual CIAA championships, including four consecutive cross country
titles; won an NCAA Division II National Championship in the 2002 indoor
800-meter run; claimed NCAA All-America honors four times; and won the
2000 NCAA Division II Southeast Region Cross Country Championship. She
was also selected as the 2002 CIAA Female Scholar Athlete of the Year and
repeated as the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association Women's
South Atlantic Region Scholar-Athlete of the Year award winner in 2001
and 2002.
