NCCU FRESHMAN JONES WINS 800-METER JUNIOR NATIONAL TITLE
Charlotte Native Qualifies for IAAF World Junior Championships in
Beijing, China
INDIANAPOLIS - North Carolina Central University freshman Brandon Jones
took home a national title in the junior men's 800-meter run during the
2006 Finish Line USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships in
Indianapolis, Ind.
Jones out-sprinted Karjuan Williams of Track
Easter to the finish line, winning with a time of 1:50.22, four one-hundreths
of a second ahead of the runner-up.
"It feels pretty good," Jones said following
the victory. "I executed what I have been practicing."
Jones' time qualifies the Charlotte, N.C.
native (Independence High School) for the 2006 IAAF World Junior Championships

During the preliminary run on Thursday (June

after Jones earned track M.V.P. honors at the CIAA Outdoor Track &
