As a Freshman (1994-95) ...

Posted the second fastest 400m time in NCAA Division II during the season
with a time of 55.74 at the College Invitational meet at Virginia Tech
in Blacksburg, VA.

Earned All-Conference honors by placing second in the 400 meter dash at
the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Indoor Track &
Field Championships on Feb. 9, at the Arthur Ashe Center in Richmond, VA.

As a member of the women's 4x400 meter relay squad, posted the second fastest
time in the NCAA Division II during the outdoor season with a 3:41.53.

The 4x400m relay team earned All-America honors with a fourth place finish
at the 1995 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in
March. Poteat qualified for three events, but head coach Michael
Lawson pulled the freshman from the 400m dash so she could concentrate
on the 4x400m relay and the 800m run, which she qualified sixth with a
time of 2:11.19.
As a Sophomore (1995-96) ...

Earned All-CIAA honors at the 1996 conference indoor track championships
by finishing second in the women's 400m dash with a time of 58.7.

Recorded a time of 2:18.39 in the women's indoor 800-meter run to finish
in eighth place overall at the NCAA Division II National Championships.

Earned All-CIAA honors at the 1996 conference outdoor track championships
with a second place finish in the women's 800 meter run (2:13.50).

Finished ninth in the NCAA Division II women's outdoor 800 meter run with
a time of 2:18.65.
As a Junior (1996-97) ...

Placed fourth at the 1996 CIAA Cross Country Championships to earn All-CIAA
honors.

Crowned CIAA Indoor Champion in the women's indoor 800 meter run with a
winning time of 2:22.5.

Crowned CIAA Outdoor Champion in the women's outdoor 800 meter run with
a winning time of 2:17.08.
As a Senior (1997-98) ...

Earned All-CIAA honors by placing fourth at the 1997 CIAA Cross Country
Championships.

Recognized as Most Outstanding Track Athlete at the 1997 CIAA Indoor Track
Championships with two first place performances. First, Poteat joined
fellow teammates to win the women's 4x400m relay, and then went on to win
the women's 800m dash with a time of 2:22.2.
