FOUR LADY EAGLES EARN PRE-SEASON ALL-CIAA VOLLEYBALL HONORS

     HAMPTON, VA --  Four North Carolina Central University Lady Eagles - junior outside hitter Brenda Brown, junior middle hitter Danielle Johnson-Webb, junior setter Ariel Germain and senior right side hitter Patricia Rodrigues - were honored by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association as members of its Pre-Season All-Conference Team, as selected by the CIAA Volleyball Coaches Association. 
     Brown, a 5-7 junior from Fayetteville, NC, amassed 178 kills and 278 digs to earn Second Team All-CIAA recognition a year ago. 
     Germain, a 5-7 junior from Detroit, Michigan, topped the conference with 1,186 assists and collected 167 digs to claim Second Team All-CIAA merit last season. 
     Johnson-Webb, a 6-2 junior from Chapel Hill, NC, led the league with 170 blocks and (49 solo) and was second on the team with 298 kills.
     Rodrigues, a 5-10 senior from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, collected 195 kills, 152 assists and a team-high 321 digs. 
     The Lady Eagles home-opener is on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 6:30 p.m. against Mount Olive in the L.T. Walker Complex on the NCCU campus.
