Three Lady Eagles named to All-CIAA Preseason Volleyball Team

     HAMPTON, VA - Three North Carolina Central University Lady Eagles, senior outside hitter Brenda Brown, senior middle hitter Danielle Johnson-Webb and senior setter Ariel Germain, were honored by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association as members of its Preseason All-Conference Team, as selected by the CIAA Volleyball Coaches Association.  The defending champion Lady Eagles' three selections are the most of any school.
     Brown, a 5-7 senior from Fayetteville, NC, recorded 284 kills and a team-best 394 digs, while being named First-Team All-CIAA in 2004.
     Germain, a 5-7 senior from Detroit, Mich., was First-Team All-CIAA, third in the league with 926 assists and also contributed 166 digs and 71 blocks during the Lady Eagles championship campaign.    
      Johnson-Webb, a 6-2 senior from Chapel Hill, NC, and a 2004 First-Team All-CIAA selection, led the league with 140 blocks and was sixth with a team-best 348 kills during her junior season.
The Lady Eagles (2-2) open at home against Barton College on Tuesday, Aug. 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the McLendon-McDougald Gymnasium on the NCCU campus.
