NCCU VOLLEYBALL DROPS TWO MATCHES SATURDAY AT 
CHARLESTON SOUTHERN INVITATIONAL

     CHARLESTON, SC - After winning two matches during day one competition at the Charleston Southern University Invitational on Friday, North Carolina Central University dropped two matches on day two on Saturday, falling to Tulsa University (3-0) and Stetson University (3-1).
     In the first match on Saturday, Tulsa defeated the Eagles 3-0 (30-23, 30-27, 30-23). NCCU senior Shari Matthews collected 16 kills and 14 digs, while sophomore Rachel Lloyd recorded 12 digs in the loss.
     In the second match, Stetson edged NCCU 3-1 (30-21, 30-13, 25-30, 30-26). NCCU senior transfer Anielle DaSilva amassed 19 kills and 14 digs, while Matthews chipped in 16 kills and 24 digs, and Lloyd added 13 digs for the Eagles.
     Up next for NCCU is a road trip to Florida next weekend as the Eagles play Florida Gulf Coast on Friday, Sept. 7, followed by a match at Bethune-Cookman on Saturday, Sept. 8. Both matches will be played in Fort Myers, Fla.
