     EAGLES TO PARTICAPATE IN FLORIDA GULF COAST TOURNAMENT

DURHAM, NC - The Eagles of North Carolina Central University are back on the Eagle express as they travel to Fort Myers, Fla. to participate in the Florida Gulf Coast University Tournament on Sept. 7-8.

NCCU (5-4) will take on tournament host Florida Gulf Coast on Friday, in a night cap at 7 p.m. The Eagles will take on MEAC member the Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman University, in an early bird morning match on Saturday at 11 a.m.  

NCCU is in its first year of reclassification to Division I.  The Eagles are led by senior outside hitter Shari Matthews, the reigning Division II Player of the Year. Matthews already has 135 kills, 99 digs, and 22 service aces.
