NCCU'S WILLIAMS EARNS FOURTH CIAA VOLLEYBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONOR

     North Carolina Central University freshman Porche' Williams has been voted as the CIAA Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week, her fourth selection in the past five weeks, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced Tuesday (Oct. 8).
     Williams, a 5-11 outside hitter from Long Beach, CA, received her fourth honor of the season after recording 34 kills, 14 digs, 13 service aces and 10 blocks in four matches last week. Her best performance of the week came against the University of Charleston (WV) on Oct. 5 when she tallied 10 kills, 8 digs, 3 service aces and a block in the three-game match.
     Through 27 matches, Williams leads NCCU with 276 kills (3.14 kills per game) and 56 service aces, and is second on the team with 150 digs. 
     The Lady Eagles are currently 18-9 overall and 10-1 in CIAA play.
