NCCU'S WILLIAMS EARNS SIXTH CIAA ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONOR

     North Carolina Central University freshman Porche' Williams has been voted as the CIAA Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the sixth time this season, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced Tuesday (Oct. 29).
     Williams, a 5-11 outside hitter from Long Beach, CA, received the honor after recording 33 kills, 13 digs and 4 service aces in two matches last week. Her best performance of the week came against Winston-Salem State on Oct. 22 when she tallied 20 kills and 2 service aces in the three-game match.
     Through 39 matches, Williams leads NCCU with 427 kills (3.36 kills per game) and 91 service aces, and is second on the team with 234 digs. 
     Lady Eagle head coach Ingrid Wicker, now in her ninth year at NCCU, was selected as the CIAA Coach of the Week for the second time this season. The Lady Eagles are currently 24-15 overall and 14-2 in CIAA play.
