FOUR LADY EAGLES EARN ALL-CIAA VOLLEYBALL HONORS
HAMPTON, VA -- Four
North Carolina Central University Lady Eagles have earned All-CIAA women's
volleyball honors, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced
Tuesday (Nov. 11).
Sophomore outside hitter Porche' Williams
(Long Beach, CA) and senior middle hitter Ayana Wright (Waverly,
VA) have been voted to the All-CIAA First Team, while sophomore outside
hitter Brenda Brown (Fayetteville, NC) and sophomore setter Ariel
Germain (Detroit, MI) have been selected to the All-CIAA Second Team.
Williams, the 2002 CIAA Rookie of the Year,
leads the conference with 394 kills (3.58 kills per game) and 83 service
aces (0.75 per game), while also recording 208 digs and 50 blocks.
Wright receives her second consecutive First-Team
recognition after amassing 213 kills (2.09 per game), 55 blocks and 24
services aces during the regular season.
Brown, a member of last year's CIAA All-Rookie
Team, contributed 151 kills (1.36 per game), 243 digs (2.19 per game),
31 blocks and 23 service aces.
Germain, also a member of last year's CIAA
All-Rookie Team, leads the conference with 997 assists (9.59 per game),
while adding 139 digs (1.34 per game), 66 kills, 60 blocks and 30 service
