LADY EAGLES FINISH CIAA VOLLEYBALL ROUND-UP UNDEFEATED

     FAYETTEVILLE, NC - North Carolina Central University finished the 2004 CIAA Women's Volleyball "East vs. West" Round-Up as the only undefeated team in the conference with a 6-0 record during the three-day event at Fayetteville State University.
     In NCCU's toughest challenge of the weekend came on Sunday morning when the Lady Eagles lost the first game against Virginia Union, but won the next three games for a 3-1 victory (24-30, 30-22, 30-23, 32-30).
     Senior middle hitter Danielle Johnson-Webb amassed 24 kills on 29 attempts with only two errors to lead NCCU. Cherie Wilson and Brenda Brown added 11 kills and 16 digs each, Tiffanni Turrentine recorded seven blocks, and Patricia Rodrigues served five aces for the Lady Eagles.
     NCCU wrapped up its perfect weekend with a 3-0 (30-19, 30-22, 30-20) win over Shaw. Johnson-Webb had eight kills and five blocks as the Lady Eagles improved to 11-7 overall and 9-0 in CIAA play.
