St. Augustine's Rallies to Win Fourth Straight CIAA Volleyball Championship
Lady Falcons Come Back from 2-1 Game Deficit to Hold Off Host Lady Eagles

     DURHAM, NC -- Saint Augustine's College rallied from 2-1 game deficit to defeat North Carolina Central University, 3-2 (30-26, 23-30, 28-30, 30-15, 15-13), in the 2003 CIAA Women's Volleyball Championship final at McLendon-McDougald Gym in Durham, NC. 
     The come-from-behind victory is the fourth consecutive conference title for the Lady Falcons, while the Lady Eagles settle for the runner-up award for the second straight season.
     Tournament M.V.P. Magaly Gomez, a 5-11 junior from Lima, Peru, topped the Lady Falcons with 28 kills and 14 digs. All-Tournament Team member Katrina Johnson added 22 kills and 8 digs for St. Augustine's (25-4).
     NCCU (21-19) was led by All-Tournament Team sophomore Porche' Williams with 17 kills and 9 digs, while sophomore Danielle Johnson-Webb tallied 13 kills and sophomore Brenda Brown contributed a match-high 15 digs. 
     St. Augustine's will now represent the CIAA in the 2003 NCAA Division II Regional Championship.
