WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

     INDIANAPOLIS - The North Carolina Central University women's basketball team, powered by its best start in school history, holds the No. 4 position in the season's first NCAA Division II South Atlantic Region poll.
     NCCU opened the season 11-1 before losing two road games in three days. The Lady Eagles are currently 12-3 overall and 3-2 in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
     After a road win against Livingstone on Tuesday (Jan. 17), NCCU's next contest is Jan. 28 against Saint Augustine's in Durham, N.C.
