NCCU'S GAMBLE, ROBINSON EARN WEEKLY CONFERENCE HONORS

HAMPTON, VA - North Carolina Central University freshman guard Karla Gamble and Lady Eagle head coach Joli Robinson earned weekly women's basketball conference honors from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
Gamble, a 5-6 native of Albion, Mich., was named CIAA Rookie of the Week after recording season-highs of 20 points and five steals during a 76-71 win over Winston-Salem State University on Saturday (Feb. 5). She currently leads the Lady Eagles and is fourth in the conference with 31 three-point field goals made, and is the team's second-leading scorer with an average of 8.1 points per game.
Robinson, now in her ninth season as head coach at NCCU, was voted as the CIAA Women's Basketball Coach of the Week after the Lady Eagles won two Western Division contests over Winston-Salem State and nationally-ranked Johnson C. Smith University last week to extend their win streak to six games.
