WILLIAMS HONORED AS CIAA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

      HAMPTON, VA -- North Carolina Central University sophomore LaQuanda Williams was named CIAA Player of the Week for the second straight week, after leading NCCU to three conference wins during the week of Feb. 19.
     Williams, a native of Durham, N.C., averaged 21.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game in three contests during the week. On Feb. 17, Williams scored a team-high 25 points and added nine rebounds and four steals in a 72-53 win at Virginia Union University. Since Williams joined the team in late December, NCCU is 16-1. The Lady Eagles have won 13 consecutive games overall and 16 of their last 17.
     NCCU, who leads the CIAA Western Division by two games, will host St. Paul's College on Tuesday in McLendon-McDougald Gymnasium at 5:30 p.m.
