     HAMPTON, VA - North Carolina Central University freshman Cassie
King has been named to the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association All-Rookie Team.
     A native of Wendell, NC, King topped all rookies in the conference in scoring, rebounding and  steals. She is among the league leaders in seven statistical categories, ranking 12th in scoring (14.5 ppg), fifth in rebounding (9.3 rpg), seventh in steals (2.7 spg), 12th in field goal percentage (.465), sixth in defensive rebounds (5.85 drpg), sixth in offensive rebounds (3.50 orpg), and 11th in blocked shots with 22 rejections.
     King was voted CIAA Rookie of the Week three times during her freshman campaign (Nov. 30, Jan. 4, Feb. 8).
