HAILEY BREAKS NCCU RECORD IN WIN OVER UNC-PEMBROKE

     DURHAM, NC -- North Carolina Central University sophomore transfer LaVonna Hailey broke the school single-game record with 15 assists during the Lady Eagles' 83-63 win at UNC-Pembroke in Pembroke, N.C. on Saturday (Nov. 25).
     Hailey, a 5-5 Charlotte, N.C. native who transferred to NCCU from Appalachian State, amassed eight points, six rebounds and five steals to go along with her record-breaking 15 helpers.
     NCCU senior Cassie King scored a team-high 19 points and added eight rebounds. Freshman Latoya Bennett collected 14 points and eight boards, while rookie Jori Nwachukwu contributed 13 points and nine caroms for the Lady Eagles (1-1).
     UNC-Pembroke (0-4) was topped by Natalie Roy with 20 points, while L'oreal Price added 12 points.
     NCCU out-rebounded UNC-P 40-23, and led at the half 47-30.
