NCCU WOMEN'S TENNIS EARNS TWO CIAA WEEKLY AWARDS

HAMPTON, VA – North Carolina Central University freshman Antionette Spain has been selected as the CIAA Women's Tennis Player of the Week, while head coach David Nass has been named the CIAA Women's Tennis Coach of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
Spain, a native of Charlotte, N.C., won both of her singles matches during the week of March 26-April 1, including a come-from-behind, tie-break victory at No. 4 singles over Kim Moore of Shaw University (3-6, 7-5, 11-9) on March 27. She also posted a doubles record of 1-1.
Nass, now in his 10th year at NCCU, picked up conference coach of the week honors after guiding the Lady Eagles to a 1-1 week, with his squad rebounding from a loss at Shaw (3-6) to claim a road victory at Elizabeth City State (7-2).
