NCCU WOMEN DIVISION II WINNERS AT GREENSBORO CROSS COUNTRY INVITE
GREENSBORO, NC -- North Carolina Central University
sophomore Yolanda Barber and junior Aisha Brown placed first
and second to lead the Lady Eagles to the women's Division II team championship
at the 22nd annual Greensboro Cross Country Invitational at Hagan Stone
Park.
NCCU won the Division II event with 58 points,
while Saint Augustine's placed second with 71 points and Fairmont State
finished third with 87 points.
NCCU's Barber was the first Division II runner
to cross the finish line and placed third overall with a time of 19 minutes,
47.1 seconds on the 5k course. Brown finished sixth overall and second
in Division II with a time of 20:25.1.
NCCU's men placed second with 53 points, while
St. Augustine's won the event with 32 points.
