NCCU'S LAWSON REPEATS AS CIAA MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY COACH OF THE YEAR

HAMPTON, VA - North Carolina Central University head cross country/track & field coach Michael Lawson has been selected as the 2004 CIAA Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced Friday (Nov. 7).
In 2004, the Eagles captured the school's first conference championship in cross country by defeating seven-time defending champions Saint Augustine's College.
Now in his 16th season as the head coach for men's and women's cross country and track & field at NCCU, this is Lawson's second consecutive conference coach of the year honor for men's cross country. He has also earned honors as the CIAA Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year in 1999 and 2001, and received the CIAA Men's Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year award in 2002.
