“Contagious.” Did you catch it?

Before Wednesday night, the only thing Bon Vivant's previous shows could spread were complaints of long delays and short scenes.

Students were cautious about attending, but many were curious to see if B.V.'s “Contagious” would indeed be infectious.

Patrons' curiosity for the school year's first show was catching, as the walls, balcony, and lobby of B.N. Duke was packed for the Fashion Show.

A scene called "Takin it Back" sparked nostalgia of times and clothing that students are too young to remember, and too fashionable to admit otherwise.

From `80s stonewashed jeans and Radio Raheim boom-boxes to `90s Milan style of Members Only jackets, one-strapped overalls and stirrups, the audience was “doin' tha butt” and searching (while boppin' to Mary's “Real Love”) for the answer to that age-old question: “Did I use to wear that?!”

Delays between scenes were shorter than in the past, and intermission breezed by as an audience fashion contest preoccupied the spectators. Ladies stayed in the contest or stepped away, depending on audience applause.

Angie Blackwell, a former NCCU student and Bon Vivant member, prevailed as a last minute entry decked out in a printed skirt with matching cross tank.

A moment of silence was spent for the victims and families of America's recent tragedy. Lenny Kravitz's "American Woman" was played for a patriotic tribute given by the women of Bon Vivant. They modeled America's colors in bra tops, denim, and skirts.
