Fall summit a first for NC Central

The NC Central University Residence Hall Association held the North Carolina Association of Resident Hall’s fall summit 2002 on Sept. 28 in the New School of Education.

NCARH serves the resident students of North Carolina by providing a communication network between all member schools. In addition to providing a line of communication, NCARH recognizes outstanding student leaders and their accomplishments on both the campus and state levels.

NCCU is the only Historically Black College and University in the NCARH. This was the first time the summit was held at NCCU.

“I think NCCU made a good impression,” said Marcus McClain, a social work major and NCCU’s RHA vice president. “NCCU took the initiative, stepped up to the plate, and as a result, I think more HBCUs will join.”

The RHA was formed in 2001. Anyone living on campus can be a member of the NCCU RHA.

It serves as a link between the campus residents and the university administration by focusing on programming, policy recommendations issues and concerns within residence halls.
