    Coach comes back after suffering stroke

    At the Jan. 10 press conference, the scoreboards inside N.C. Central University’s McLendon-McDougald Gym were still graced with Men’s Head Basketball Coach Phil Spence’s age — 47 — posted on the shot-clock. The gesture was made in support of Spence’s return to coaching after being struck by an embolic stroke on Dec. 6, 2001. [Go to article]


    NCCU gets $234k gift
    The late Georgia Williams Barbee McCallum, a graduate of North Carolina Central University, never forgot the generosity of Dr. James E. Shepard. According to her daughter, that generosity was the reason behind her recent $233,850 gift to the university. [Go to article]


    NCCU leads other HBCUs in blood drives
