Fourteen NCCU art students recently spent three days in New York City for an intensive introduction to that city's art world. Isabel Chicquor, associate professor in the art department, accompanied the students on the April 7-9 trip, which was sponsored by the College of Arts & Science, the office of the vice chancellor of Student Affairs and University Career Services.
On day one they toured Marvel Comics where they were introduced to the history of Marvel Comics and given a tour that taught them about the process of making comics. During the tour, senior art student and Campus Echo cartoonist Dustin Harewood was able to meet with company representatives to land an internship position this summer.
