Sting Cleaning

'Sting cleaning' hits campus
Twenty arrests were made at checkpoints around NCCU last week. Responding to community surveys, Durham’s Community Activation Team headed by Durham Police Sergeant Winslow Forbes has taken action with a series of checkpoints and raids designed to reduce crime in Durham neighborhoods. NCCU struggles to name SGA president
The SGA candidate elected for president last week has been found ineligible for the office. On April 18, a memorandum was circulated saying that art major Rashaun Rucker, who won the election over Timothy Peterkin and Sequestis Pridgen seven days earlier, was disqualified because he didn’t have enough credit hours for senior status. Law Week mixes egg toss, moot court
"Sixty years of helping people learn to help others" was the slogan during N.C. Central University’s Law Week, which celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Turner Law School at NCCU.

Echo named top HBCU newspaper
The Black College Communication Association has awarded The Campus Echo the title Best Overall HBCU Student Newspaper and Best Online Edition. Individually, students won five additional awards.
