Qualifications
for Police Officer
To
be considered for employment, you must meet the following
minimum qualifications:
- High
School Diploma or GED
- Age
21 years by Graduation from BLET
- Be
a United States Citizen
- Submit
to and pass an extensive back ground investigations
- Polygraph
examination
- Psychological
screening
- Uncorrected
Vision 20/100 correctable to 20/30 with no color
blindness
- No
Felony or DWI convictions
- Valid
Drivers License

Process
North
Carolina Central University Police Department is an

If
hired as a police officer, the recruit will then attend
a comprehensive training program leading to Law Enforcement
certification in North Carolina. Recruits who are
already certified will be assigned for six weeks with
an experienced officer for on the job training.
We
offer a starting salary of $31,850 to $40,196. Officers
with prior police training and experience are eligible
for a higher salary. The State offers a comprehensive
benefits package.
