Greetings from the Office of Institutional Advancement at NCCU,
On behalf of the students, faculty and staff of North Carolina Central University, I extend to you a heartfelt welcome. I have been pleased to serve as the vice chancellor of Institutional Advancement (IA) since 2010. Ours is the fundraising unit on campus, and as part of that mission, we manage alumni relations and the NCCU Foundation — the financial entity created to receive and process gifts. IA secures, manages and disperses private funds to support faculty and students with scholarships, fellowships, facilities and programs.
As state funding continues to decline, the need for private philanthropy grows. It is our role to involve and engage individuals, corporations and foundations to develop and present to them opportunities to support and partner with NCCU in ways that align with their interests and philanthropic intentions. Success often depends on the trust developed through sustained, long-term relationships. It is important and satisfying work.
I invite you to visit campus soon and attend an arts, athletic or special event to learn more about NCCU and explore ways you can make a difference in the lives of NCCU students now and forever. Please feel free to contact me, or any member of the IA staff, so that we may assist you in fulfilling your aspirations for a meaningful legacy.
Best regards,
Lois Deloatch
Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement
