NCCU Annual Fund

Unrestricted financial support from donors is a critical funding source for programs, services and resources that serve a broad range of university needs. Yearly contributions to the Annual Fund provide a reliable stream of revenue for academic and student-life programs. Annual Fund gifts help in nearly every area of the university. Contributions at every level help to sustain core operations and priorities. Student scholarships, library resources and other essential services are supported by annual donations. The Annual Fund runs from July 1 through June 30 and appeals to the alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends of the university to encourage lasting connections and involvement with NCCU.

Though tuition and state monies provide a large part of NCCU’s operating budget, additional funds are needed to provide adequate resources and services, and unrestricted gifts to the Annual Fund meet these needs. Unlike endowed funds, which are invested and generate support for specific purposes, the Annual Fund plays a vital part in the university’s day-to-day operations.

The flexibility of the Annual Fund allows you to designate your gift for students, faculty or research in any of the university’s schools, departments or programs. Every gift is valuable and important.

When you support the Annual Fund, you are positioning NCCU for success, helping to sustain and expand the university. Your participation in the Annual Fund demonstrates your Eagle Pride!

Matching Gifts

Some employers offer a program whereby employee contributions are matched. Most will match dollar for dollar, and some will even match double or triple the value of the gift. Some companies also may match gifts made by retirees or spouses. Please contact your human resources office for details. Click here to see a list of matching employers.

Faculty and Staff Campaigns

NCCU is proud of its faculty and staff for their commitment and support which expands learning opportunities for students, strengthens academic programs and improves facilities for the institution. We thank you for a job well done and value your individual and collective contributions to the Annual Fund.

Faculty and staff donations enable NCCU to recruit and support the development and retention of the best and brightest faculty and staff. To continue your support to the Faculty/Staff Campaign, click here.

Student Giving Campaigns (SGC)

The SGC is the student-centered giving campaign led by the Student Government Association. The SGC encourages and facilitates student giving to the university. Working in collaboration with the SGC, the Office of Institutional Advancement introduces students to philanthropy as early as their freshman year and helps establish a foundation for long-term philanthropic engagement through graduation and beyond.

The Parents’ Fund

A collaborative effort between the NCCU Parents and Family Association and the Office of Institutional Advancement, the Parents’ Fund engages parents and friends in supporting NCCU. Parents and friends can designate their gifts for unrestricted purposes or identify specific areas to receive their university support, including scholarships and various departments or schools.

Reunion Giving

Every year, thousands of Eagles unite during Homecoming to reminisce about their collegiate experiences, see old friends and roommates, and explore the rapid growth and development of the university. During this exciting time, many alumni look forward to presenting NCCU with a class reunion gift to demonstrate their commitment and continued support of their alma mater and the students it currently serves.
