The evaluation of applicant files is an involved and lengthy process. The length of the review process is determined by whether an applicant's file must be reviewed by the entire Admissions Committee. The Admissions Committee is comprised of members of the faculty. The Assistant Dean for the Day Program and Assistant Dean for the Evening Program serve as act hoc members of the Admissions Committee.
Final decisions generally take approximately 4 to 8 weeks after a file is completed. However, midrange applicant decisions may take longer. Applicants who apply late in the admissions cycle, waitlisted applicants, and transfer and visiting student applicants may not receive a final decision until July. PBAP participants will receive their decisions by mid-April. Telephone inquiries, e-mails and letters requesting a decision will not accelerate this process.
The Office of Admissions will not discuss an applicant's status with anyone other than the applicant without written authorization from the applicant. All admissions decisions are communicated by letter from the Associate Dean for Student Services. No admissions decision will be communicated by telephone or e-mail.
Processing and evaluating of completed applicant files begins after October 1st. Only completed files are reviewed for a decision. A completed file consists of the following:
Graduate with baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university by the time orientation begins in the fall (accredited colleges or universities are available at http://www.chea.org/ ); AND
A current, completed LSDAS report that includes all post secondary educational institutions attended (except foreign-educated applicants), an LSAT Score, a writing sample, and two written recommendations submitted through LSAC's recommendation service; AND
*In the event you encounter any technical difficulty in using this service, you should call LSAC's Help Desk at (215)968-1393
